This package's configure checks for the 'build' (target) OS, and if
Darwin, switches to mac-specific mode, rather than using configure
tests.  This patch disables that behavior, and limits the Darwin test
to setting dyn_lib_suf, because later configure checks explicitly for
libraries by name (rather than trying to link).
